CONTEMPLATION THROUGH VINEYARD WORK

You may participate in the annual activity of “zubinden,” the binding of the vines in our vineyards.  A traditional activity, the binding is essential for healthy vine growth during the summer, as well as serving for protection against wind and rain.

It’s perfect for relaxation and contemplation.  The vineyards are  natural, still places, populated by ladybugs and butterflies.  Fresh air and spectacular scenery add to this traditional work.

Here is a sample itinerary for this activity—arranged, of course, by us:

  • Greeting at the Rittersaal with a toast of Böcking Sekt

  • Outfitting with binding cords and tools

  • Walk through the vineyards with binding instructions

  • Picnic in a vineyard (weather permitting) or lunch in a local restaurant

  • Meditative instruction

  • Binding the vines, with contemplative phases

  • After a wine tasting and serving of quiche at the Rittersaal, departure from the Böcking winery

These visits are available:

May-July:  9:30AM – 5:00PM

Maximum group size:  7 guests

Cost:  150 Euro/person

Note:  This activity is offered in cooperation with the Moselenergie Institute in Traben-Trarbach.  Call (+49-6541-9385 or email (riesling@weingut-boecking.de) to arrange your visit.
